Serena Schembri
Clinical Nutritionist in Sydney, offering online appointments Australia-wide.
For women whose bodies have stopped responding to the things that used to work.
I'm Serena Schembri, a clinically trained nutritionist and mother of two.
I support women experiencing persistent fatigue, brain fog, heavy periods, digestive changes, Hashimoto's, postnatal depletion and the effects of prolonged stress. Often, these symptoms overlap. Looking at them together can provide a clearer picture of what your body needs.
My approach combines clinical nutrition, pathology and targeted functional testing with practical support that fits around work, children and limited capacity.
Why I do this work
Many women reach me after months, or years, of feeling unlike themselves.
They are getting through the day with coffee, missing meals because there is no time to stop, crashing in the afternoon and lying awake at night despite feeling exhausted. Their blood results may have been described as "normal", yet they still know something has changed.
My role is to investigate that change carefully.
We look at your health history, symptoms, food intake, menstrual cycle, digestion, sleep, medications and current demands. Where appropriate, we use pathology and functional testing to explore factors such as iron status, thyroid function, blood glucose regulation and nutrient sufficiency.
You leave with a clear explanation of what we have identified and a personalised plan you can realistically follow.
My background
I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Nutrition from Torrens University, with 12+ years in private practice and 20 years working across nutraceutical, health and finished products.
My background also includes functional ingredients, product development and nutrition strategy. This experience has shaped the way I work: understanding the science, questioning whether something is appropriate for the individual and translating clinical information into actions that make sense in everyday life.
I am also completing a Master of Science at the University of New England, with a focus on women's health and nutrition during the postnatal period.

What it is like to work with me
Personalised clinical nutrition
Your care is shaped around your symptoms, health history, goals, food preferences and current capacity. The plan needs to work on the rushed mornings, demanding workdays and weeks when the children are unwell, not only when life is organised.
Thoughtful investigation
We build a detailed picture using your symptoms, pathology, diet, medications, digestion, sleep, stress and cycle patterns. Further testing may be recommended when it is clinically appropriate and likely to change how we approach your care.
Practical recommendations
Clinical information is translated into clear priorities. This may include meals that better support energy, realistic ways to increase key nutrients, carefully selected supplements or questions to take back to your GP.
Ongoing review
Your needs can change with recovery, menstrual changes, returning to paid work, new health information or another demanding season of life. Follow-up appointments allow us to review your results, assess what is working and adjust your protocol accordingly.
